Mino Raiola was born as Carmine “Mino” Raiola in Nocera Inferiore in the Salerna provice and moved to Haarlem in the Netherlands in 1968 when he was at the age of one. Mino Raiola has worked in the Italian restaurant that his parents owned already from an early age but stopped working there when he went to law school. In 1987 Mino Raiola started his own company. Mino Raiola has also tried to be a professional soccer player himself when he at the age of 22 joined HFC Haarlem.

His first work as a football agent was at Sports Promotions where Mino Raiola quickly worked his way up and soon he was an important agent at the company. Mino was involved in transfer of many Ajax players like Bryan Roy, Marciano Vink, Wim Jonk and Dennis Bergkamp. After some time at Sports Promotions he decided to quit the company and start working for himself. His first major transfer as a football agent was the transfer of Pavel Nedved when Nedved signed a contract with Lazio.

After this Mino Raiola quickly started working with big names such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mido and Maxwell and in 2004 Mino Raiola managed to get Zlatan Ibrahimovic sold to Juventus for 16 million euros. Both the players became free transfers and Ajax blamed Mino Raiola for this and decided not to work him for a long time.

Also in 2010 and 2011 Mino managed to be involved in a total of five transfers related to AC Milan since Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robinho, Mark van Bommel, Edanuelson and Didac Vila all had contracts with Mino Raiola or in other ways was involved with him.

If Zlatan Ibrahimovic meets his three-year contract with PSG, he will have played in over 1000 million Swedish kronor (~$125 million) just in salary during his pro career.

On Sunday it was announced that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was named This years Swede in the world. On Monday the triumphs continued for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Before the press conference before meeting with the Faroe Islands Zlatan Ibrahimovic received prize as the athletes of the sports journalists’ club in Stockholm. Zlatan got 97 percent of the vote.

Zlatan accepted the award with a big smile on his face. Then he discovers that respected British newspaper The Guardian nominated Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s bicycle kick against England for this years goal of the season.
– I have not seen any other on that level. But we’ll see. I hope I win. I have won some time before I think the Ajax goal. If I get this one also, it also is fantastic, says Ibrahimovic.

Twelve years later, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is by far the most talked about Swedish athlete, both in Sweden and internationally. Zlatan is worth several hundred million dollars and owns property in Sweden, Milan, Miami and New York among others,.

Zlatan has lived in Amsterdam, Turin, Milan, Barcelona and lives since last summer in Paris with his partner Helena Seger and their sons Maximilian (born 2006) and Vincent (born 2008). Zlatan has repeatedly said that he appreciated life in Italy and now persistent rumors puts him in various Italian clubs this summer. Sports Illustrated has for the tenth consecutive year listed the 50 athletes who make the most in the United States, and the top 20 sports stars who make the most outside the USA.

For four straight years, Roger Federer has topped the list, but now David Beckham is the number one. Beckham makes around 45 million dollars a year, where the majority come from advertising and sponsorship. Beckham gave up a salary from Paris Saint-Germain this year and still tops the list.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is listed as number 18, he makes around 17 million dollar. The U.S. list topped by boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., he draws in 85 million dollar last year, the most in the world.

I am Zlatan helped kid to learn read

The book “I am Zlatan” taught a student with Down syndrome to read. When Zlatan Ibrahimovic was was told the news, he gave the young man a signed jersey.
– Now Christoffer can read without major problems, says his teacher.

Christoffer Carlsson in Vellinge (Swedish city) is a special education student with Down syndrome. He could not previously read but having starting to read Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s autobiography quickly made him aware of his love of reading. Cristoffer started reading the book when he heard that the class reading group would read a readable version of the book.

– After a while, he read himself, the first few lines and then more and more. Now Christoffer can read without major problems, says Christoffer Lindhe’s teacher.

When Zlatan Ibrahimovic was told of this news he got very happy and quickly went to get a PSG jersey for the kid.

– Zlatan ran into the apartment and picked up a jersey which he autographed and asked me to send it to Cristoffer. He thought it was fun to hear, said Dan Olofsson.

The jersey is now available in Vellinge in Christoffer Carlsson’s home. Cristoffer himself is also playing football. His biggest idol, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He was very happy when he received the gift of his great idol.

– Great fun. I’ll have it on Saturday at my birthday party, said Christoffer.

This wonderful story got a happy ending when Zlatan got to see a picture of Christopher with the shirt. Zlatan Ibrahimovic answered succinctly: “Awesome.”

French in Sweden schools popular again because of Zlatan

A story from Swedish Radio today reports that the move of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Helena Seger to Paris has now increased the amount of students in Sweden who want to study the French language. This information is today reported in Sveriges Radio.

It is the principal of the school “Sunnadals”, Fredrik Jarny, who discovered the link between football success and the choice of language in the sixth class.
– Spanish have been popular for several years here at Sunnadals school and I think that has to do with that Spanish football has been good the last few years, both at club level but also at national level.

Zlatan helps promote French in Swedish schools?

When Zlatan Ibrahimovic changed country from Italy to France, it seems to be reflected in the students’ language selections. When Zlatan Ibrahimovic started playing in PSG Fredrik Jarny saw an increased interest in the French language.
– This is the first time in several years that the French language get a boost, so I think it has a connection, he says.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s luxury villa in Malmö is currently up for sale. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Helena Seger no longer has any time to stay in the house and wants to sell. The luxury villa was bought in 2007 for 30 million swedish crowns (roughly 3 million Euro), ten million more than the previous record for private villas in the city of Malmö. The previous owner bought the house in 2003 for eight million. He did not have a particularly long period of consideration when Zlatan and Helena knocked on the door and offered almost four times the price.

Zlatan and Helena Seger then did an extensive renovation with the excavation of a lower floor, new garage, swimming pool and a complete upgrade of the home’s interior, said to have cost as much as the villa itself did.

The house is 836 square meters, has three large lounges, private TV room, five bedrooms, Italian kitchen and a SPA. The garage has space for four cars. It would be hard for Zlatan and Helena to get back the money they spent at a potential sale.
– Though it’s my belief it will be sold for more than he bought it for, says realtor Jan Lundqvist who is entrusted to sell the super villa.

The broker has personally met Zlatan before the sale and have clear rules of conduct at work. So for example, he is not allowed to show interior photos of the house out of respect for both current and future owners. The speculators who express a serious interest in the property will also have their finances audited by the broker.

The broker has through his contacts in both France and Italy put out hooks in many places. Realtor Jan Lundqvist can not say today when a possible deal can be concluded.
– These kinds of objects are living their own lives. Sellers can afford to wait for the right buyer, and therefore it is impossible to say how long a sale will take.

Zlatan to beat his 28 goal record from Milan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is close to making his best season, by looking at goals made. On Sunday, he scored his 27th league goal in France. That means he is only one goal away from his record league season.

In the tenth minute Zlatan passed a ball to Javier Pastore right outside the penalty area. Nice goalkeeper David Ospina ran out to take the ball, but was completely deceived by Pastore.
Pastore then passed the ball to Jeremy Menez who was able to score 1-0 to PSG.

In the second half came Zlatan’s 27th league goal this season. Goalkeeper David Ospina was trying to fool Menez but got the ball too far from him. Ezequiel Lavezzi was fastest to the ball and Ospina had to make a foul against Lavezzi. The referee Tony Chapron gave PSG penalty and showed the goalkeeper the red card.

Joris Delle jumped in between Nice’s posts. Zlatan took care of the penalty and easily scored 2-0 at one of the goalkeepers poles, his 27th league goal this season. A few minutes before full time Zlatan got through Nice’s defense and passed Clement Chantome, who easily could score 3-0, his first goal of the season.

Zlatan is a goal away from touching his best season in terms of the number of league goals. Last year, he made 28 league goals for Milan. There remains five league games for PSG and Zlatan this season so he has a big chance to beat his current goal scoring record. PSG currently leads the league with nine points ahead of Marseille.
